Roof Repairs

When your roof is damaged it is important to have it fixed as quickly as possible to avoid any internal, more severe damage to your home. The expert roofers at Clermont Roofing will survey your property, and provide a free estimate to determine if a roof repair or roof replacement is in your best interest. We will advise you whether a repair is feasible, and if we can extend the life of your roof we will be happy to do so.

Our experienced roofing contractors are proficient in a wide variety of repairs. Here are some examples of the most common issues that we encounter:

Roof Repair Types

  • Dry Rot

While decking can’t be repaired once it has begun to rot, it is possible to replace a section of decking, rather than replacing the entire roof – provided that the rot is limited to a small area.

  • Chimney Flashing

Flashing is sheet metal installed for the purpose of ensuring that the connection between the chimney and roof is watertight, but the effectiveness of flashing eventually expires. This area of the roof is vulnerable to rot, and should be carefully inspected regularly.

  • Vent Pipe Boot

Any type of ventilation or plumbing pipes that protrude from the top of the roof will be sealed with flashing, or rubber gaskets at the base. UV damage and exposure to the elements can cause these seals to deteriorate in just a couple of years’ time. Repairing these boots in a timely manner is vital to preventing costly interior leaks.

  • Vent Pipe Boot Covers

In addition to vent pipe boot repairs, we also provide a service to put boot covers on your existing vent pipes. We will make sure your pipes have not been damaged and get them covered. This prevents damage from squirrels and roof rats.

  • Ventilation

One of the most significant actions you can take to reduce the risk of rot in your home is by adequately ventilating the bathrooms, kitchen, and attic. When humid air is trapped in the attic of a home, it can undermine the roof decking. We at Clermont Roofing would be happy to help with adding additional roof vents, unclogging existing vents that have become blocked, or addressing issues with improper screening that may be allowing pests into the home.

  • Resealing

When a new roof is constructed, there are a variety of areas that are sealed with rubber, silicone, or caulk in order to guard against leakage. Basically, any area where the roof is penetrated by a pipe, chimney, HVAC unit – or where two planes of roof adjoin. Over time, these sealants can lose their elasticity and become brittle, allowing for moisture to seep in.

  • Shingles

In Florida, when we think of repairing shingles we envision hurricane-force winds ripping them off – which does happen fairly frequently. However, roof shingles can also begin showing signs of damage due to normal wear and tear. Old shingles can curl up, or become brittle and often lose their protective coating.

  • Storm Damage

The number and severity of storms that affect Florida are increasing with each hurricane season. These harsh weather conditions can inflict a broad spectrum of roofing damage. OCR Roofing will be there for you when you need expert roofing repairs done quickly. Our roofers have extensive experience in storm damage roofing.

We can help, whether your damage is limited to shingle replacement or if you have more extensive issues such as high wind blow-off, replacement of skylights, or even major structural damage caused by downed trees. We at OCR Roofing are more than happy to work with your insurance company in order to assist in getting some or all of your roofing costs covered under your homeowner’s insurance policy.

We can help by providing our input on specific damages, and when they may have taken place. Our knowledgeable staff can walk you through the insurance claims process and make the experience less stressful.
